2005 Nissan AltimaThis third-generation Nissan Altima was launched in 2002 as an exciting alternative to the otherwise ordinary mid-size sedan segment. And it remains the cure for the common car. Now with a new interior, the 2005 Nissan Altima has addressed our biggest complaint with this car.

Excellent car for a family

Pros: Roomy, good gas mileage, excellent reliability
Cons: Stereo sounds bad, seats not too comfy, blows cold air.
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this as a great little family car that is very reliable.
This was the first "foreign" car that we bought. We were in a crunch to replace our old car before it blew up and we missed the trade in value! We leased a 2005 Altima and since have been incredibly happy with it. We have 3 children (age 2, 7, and 10) that all fit comfortably in the back seat even with 2 car seats. It is very roomy even for my husband to sit in the back (who is 6'3 and large build). We did get the basic 2.5 4-cylinder and we do sometimes wish we got a few of the extra options. It warms up fairly quickly.
A few down falls: The basic stereo isn't that great sounding when turned up loud. I find myself adjusting a lot of the levels depending on the song. The seats are not incredibly comfortable. I find them a little too hard for me. Also when it's really cold outside (we live in MN), if you are sitting at a stop light for a bit the heat loses a few degrees and it blows colder air.
All in all we have not had 1 problem with our car since owning for over a year and a half (unlike our previous "American" made cars who always seem to have something that needs to be fixed). We can't wait to go back and get the Maxima! I will definitely continue to buy Nissan products in the future.
