Author's Review
We bought one of the Nintendo DS Lite Crimson and Black Consoles in order to have a portable gaming system that could be played anywhere and anytime.  The Nintendo DS is a high powered handheld video game system that has a folding design and is loaded with features for a great gaming experience.  The system is nice and portable, comes with bright color screens, and works with a great touch screen that provides a unique way of playing the games and controlling the characters.  Not only that, but the system has built in wireless capabilities that allows the user to share games, chat, or even play multiplayer games online.

The sleek design and feel to the Nintendo DS Lite makes it a lot of fun to use, and having the two screens of play that interact with each other makes the games more advanced when it comes to playing them.  Both of the screens have the touch-screen technology, and come with a stylus pen that not only gets used as a sort-of cursor on the screen, but tucks into the back of the device for storage when not in use.  The pen is lightweight, and is used to play certain games, or to write on the screen with games like those in their “Brain” series.  The console also has directional pads and buttons to control the other games, and it is really easy to use with the same functionality as a controller would with your typical console.

The Nintendo DS has an interactive microphone and speaker assembly, LED lights to help tell when the game is open, closed, or charging, and it has four levels of lighting that can adjust to your specifications.  The display is a 3-inch screen, and the shell of the console comes in various colors, with this one being the snazzy crimson choice.  In addition to all that the DS has to offer, it also has an 8KB cache size, a headphone jack, a DC power input, a cartridge slot for Nintendo DS games, and it also has a slot to use the Nintendo Game Boy Advance games as well.  It all operates on a lithium-ion rechargeable battery that works for between 6 and 10 hours before a new charge is needed.

The Nintendo DS Lite has turned out to be a great little console, which was well worth the $129.99 that it cost to purchase.  Games cost $19.99 or $29.99 typically, ranging from card games, to racing games, to sports games.  Everything is very portable, and the game cartridges are so small that you can carry around a few of them anywhere you go.  The whole console is very durable as well, but you can extend the 1 year warranty it comes with if you expect to put it through a lot of tough use.  This is a great console, highly recommended, and well suited for both kids and adults who love to play video games.
