Neutrogena Moistureshine Lip Gloss (15400)

My favorite lip gloss ever

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: ultra-glossy, nice shades, reasonably priced

Cons: bleeds

The Bottom Line:
just the right combination of shine and color that you won't find in any other lip gloss. it's absolutely FABULOUS.

Author's Review
This is, hands down, my favorite lip gloss. It delivers loads of high-impact shine, and sheer (to a certain degree) color -- it just delivers. Trust me, try it. You won't be disappointed. The color selection is small, but the high quotient of nice shades more than compensates for that. It's quite comfortable, too -- not at all sticky or tacky, nor is it watery like cargo's lip gloss duos. It imparts a super-glossy shine and conditions your lips, leaving them extremely smooth and moisturized, as the name implies. It bleeds a little, which I personally don't mind much, but some people are bothered by lipcolor that bleeds, so I felt the need to say it. It doesn't last too long either (even though I have no problem with that).

It was the pretty colors and packaging that drew me to this product. (Seriously, every time I walked into a drug store.... ) So one day I decided to buy one, since I've found from experience that neutrogena products are (generally) of good quality, and because I'm sort of obsessed with lipcolor. Currently, I own three shades, but the first one I bought was Glam. It's a beautiful, deep, vibrant cool/neutral pink, and it's by far my favorite. I also have this lip gloss in Flirt, a pinkish red. It looks very brown in the tube, but it actually has some pink undertones... I thought it would be a terracotta shade, but all it is is a pinky-red/brown hybrid. Strange and inexplainable combination. The third shade I purchased was sweet nothing, which is just a clear gloss that's slightly less shiny than the pigmented ones.

Most of the twelve existing shades are pigmented to a certain extent, but the ligher shades go on very sheer.... still, most are only slightly sheer -- sheer in this case meaning not completely opaque. It does give good coverage. Not opaque coverage, but enough that I wouldn't necessarily call it "sheer" in the sense that you might think. I got it from a duane reade (drug store chain that exists only in NY state) for.. well, I don't remember, but it was around $7. This gloss can be found in almost every drugstore.

The only problem I have with this gloss is the scent -- the scent is pleasant, but it has... sort of like what would equate to an aftertaste, if it were a flavor. It smells sort of fruity, and sort of sweet, but there's also another separate strange scent that isn't very pleasant, to say the least.
