A 19-inch TFT LCD from AG Neovo, the F-419 is a sleek and stylish monitor that delivers a high-quality image at an affordable price. A maximum SXGA resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 and 0.264 mm dot pitch combine with a 700:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits of brightness, and 16.7 million colors to provide detailed, true-to-life images suitable for a wide variety of home and office uses. With a small 16.6-by-8.7-inch footprint, the F-419 fits easily onto any convenient surface and is also wall mountable, freeing up desktop space completely. 170-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles provide a good range of visual clarity, while the hard coating (3H), anti-glare, and anti-static screen treatment helps cut back on harmful reflections and the resulting eyestrain. The Bottom Line:
I cannot recommend the Neovo F-419 enough, for the price-point, quality and DVI-Input.
Pros:
- Excellent Contrast & Brightness.
- Price, Price and Price.
- Thin.
- No Dead Pixels.
- Huge Size.
- LCD.
- DVI Input.
Cons:
- No Height Adjustment.
- Base Can Be A Bit Wobbly.
- OSD Menu Could Be Better.
Keeping in mind that this is a sub-$300 flat panel LCD ($279.99 after $50.00 rebate), you're not going to see the response times that you would in the more expensive Samsung SyncMaster, NEC MultiSync, or even a Sony LCD... But the F-419 is approx. 1/2 the price of those models in most cases. Looking at it side-by-side with a Sharp LL-T19D1H/B and a NEC MultiSync LCD1960NXI, both of which is double what the F-419 is priced, It immediately caught my eye. The display was crisp and bright, with web-based text very easy to read, the unit I looked at in-store(PC Club)was using the DVI Input.
I think with LCD's you need to see them in person, no amount of reviews positive or negative on the web can tell you how it's going to look to you when you're standing in front of it. I can't tell you how many people rave about the ViewSonic LCD's. I personally don't like them at all. It's opinion, like so many things when preference comes in play. After seeing the F-419 in-person, I was so impressed I bought two for my desktop at home. Initially I was only in the market for a single LCD, but at the price ($279.99 after $50.00 rebate) I was able to buy two for what I would have spent on a single mid-level Sony or NEC LCD.
One thing that I don't think any of the other reviews have touched upon is, if you're buying from a brick-and-mortar store, it's imperative that you have them open them up and plug them in to check for dead pixels. It just might save you a trip back to the store. Both LCD's I bought were in perfect condition with no dead pixels.
But, don't take my word for it, go see one up close for yourself.
