Pros: Excellent information, Workouts, Diets, Health alerts
Cons: I finish reading it too quickly and am always waiting for the next issue
If you throw around a few weights in a haphazard fashion you may see some minor, short term gains. But if you execute exercises properly, at the right time, with the proper rest and nutrition, then you will see your fitness goals achieved.
M&F gives you the tools that you need to be a successful bodybuilder, athlete, or whatever you choose to be.
This magazine describes the proper execution of certain exercises. This is important to maximize your gains and to prevent injuries to yourself. The magazine takes the workout regimens from professional and amateur bodybuilders, athletes, and fitness competitors. These very experienced people explain the proper form to use on all exercises. Usually these are flavored towards the spotlighted athletes "tastes" or personal experiences. This will allow you to try many different twists to a certain exercise to find what fits your specific needs.
M&F also has monthly workout features. These workouts will have different goals in mind (I.E. tighter abs, bigger arms, improve your bench press, etc.). I have tried a few of these different workout plans with some pretty good success. These plans will normally include the suggested amount of cardio exercise, diet guidelines, and exercise requirements.
M&F spotlights different diet plans or fad drugs each month and gives you all of the needed information provided by actual scientific studies. This will allow you to make an informed decision before you try something "controversial".
The magazine focuses on a few different body parts a month (biceps, triceps, quads, chest, etc.) and gives you different exercises to adequately work these muscles. These sections will allow you a chance to try something new to jump above plateaus.
There is a monthly article by the king of muscles, Arnold! His lessons learned are very valuable considering his incredible rise in the world of Iron.
This magazine is packed with dietary information, recipes, exercises, fitness/bodybuilding competitions information, personal success stories, etc.
I have spent much time checking all of the "muscle mags" to find one that met all of my needs, and after a few years of trying literally all of them, I always go back to Muscle & Fitness. I just (finally) started a subscription and am very happy.
Great job Mr. Weider!
