The 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage is available in four models for this year - the DE and LS in both coupe and sedan. The DE models feature a 1.5-liter 92-hp engine while the LE models upgrade to a more powerful 1.8-liter 113-hp engine. Safety features include tinted glass, side impact door beams and height-adjustable driver and front-passenger shoulder belts. Additionally, all sedans are equipped with child safety locks for the rear doors. All models offer additional optional equipment including a cargo net, mudguards, wheel locks and a keyless entry system. Option packages offered on each trim line feature upgrades including either intermittent or variable intermittent wipers, power windows and door locks and a drivers seat height adjustment.

nice family car

Pros: good on gas,roomy.
Cons: sways at fast speeds when full with 5 large adults.

well i have had this car for over 9 years and it will be passed down to my oldest daughter here next year.this is a compact car with a lot of room inside.the trunk is very roomy.i have a speaker system with 3 tens in the trunk to make it boom and i still have room for groceries.i is a little sluggish with the get up and go starting power,it is only a 1.5 engine under that hood so no pulling out in front of any body or you will be toast.it gets awesome gas mileage,some times even in the 40 some thing range on the high way,not so much in town ,but still better than the newer stuff coming out.i have over 100 thousand miles on this baby and it still purrs to go go go.it is easy to maintain with just an oil change every 3 thousand miles or so and you are good to go.i have never had any major problems with this car and that is why i have had it for so long.you just keep the oil in it changed when you should and put a new set of tires on it when the old ones wear out and you are good to go.the one set back with the car is that when you fill it up with 5 large adults it loses some of its power and it almost feels like it sways back and fourth as you are driving,this only happens at fast speeds.it runs good in all weather and it is front wheel drive and it comes right out of my lane in the snow with no problem.its a good little car and will last for many years to come.happy driving.
