Pros: GAS Mileage, Body style, Price, Reliability
Cons: Brakes, AC
The Bottom Line:
I would own another. It isn't quite a Civic, a Corolla, or a Sentra but for the price it is an excellent car and possibly a better value.
I bought my Mirage as a salvage title in 2000. It had been hit in the rear and suffered for the main part from body damage. Well, after $5,000 I had a 99 Mirage with 19,000 miles. The only problem in the past two years and 40,000 miles (mind you I change the oil and maintain the thing religously) has been the front brakes. I had to replace the rotors, calipers, and pads. I did it my self and spent $170 in parts and two hours. I have had zero problems besides the brakes and that can be expected somewhat on a car that has 60,000 miles.
Well, it's 10-9-02 and the AC just went out. I'm not sure what's wrong with it yet but glory, glory, hallalujah.
