The 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage is available in four models for this year - the DE and LS in both coupe and sedan. The DE models feature a 1.5-liter 92-hp engine while the LE models upgrade to a more powerful 1.8-liter 113-hp engine. Safety features include tinted glass, side impact door beams and height-adjustable driver and front-passenger shoulder belts. Additionally, all sedans are equipped with child safety locks for the rear doors. All models offer additional optional equipment including a cargo net, mudguards, wheel locks and a keyless entry system. Option packages offered on each trim line feature upgrades including either intermittent or variable intermittent wipers, power windows and door locks and a drivers seat height adjustment.

Pros: Roomy, sporty, loaded with extras
Cons: Has somewhat of a bumpy ride
Recently we bought a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage which was already used. It had about 25,000 miles on it and was in great condition. It has 4 doors and is bright red in color. My husband and I just love it. It is sporty without being obvious and yet you need not feel you have to drive like a demon either. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice car. Up to now we have always bought a Dodge product and I'm satisfied with Dodge but this Mitsubishi has stolen our hearts. The only drawback is the managing of the automatic doors and windows. We haven't mastered the secret just yet. We purchased this vehicle because our Dodge had finally had it and it was ten years old. This will probably be the last car we buy since we're up in age but I'm glad I own it.
