For 1999, all 3000GTs feature revised B-pillars and new front and rear styling. There is an all-new rear spoiler on the 3000GT VR-4. Anti-lock brakes and a power sunroof have been added to the list of standard features for the 3000GT SL models. All models offer 2+2 seating and the base and SL models are available with an optional automatic transmission. The 320 horsepower all wheel drive VR-4 comes standard with leather interior, 18-inch chrome alloy wheels and a six-speed manual transmission. All models come with 3.0 liter displacement engines, however each model upgrade offers performance enhancements. The 3000GT SL adds a multi-valve cylinder head to increase horsepower and the 3000GT VR-4 adds two turbo-chargers on top of that.

The Bottom Line:
Late models are hard to find. 1996-1999 vr-4. But if you can find a nice example, then by all means get one. You wont be dissapointed.
The car is a beautiful machine. As far as i have seen, there were 45 sold of the 1999 vr-4 and 156 sold of the 1998 vr-4 (my year). My transmission went out after 30000 miles. As i am the second owner, and i have no idea what the origional owner put the car through, i know that this is a relatively rare thing. Since i had the warranty still on the car, i did not have to pay for the $7,000 it cost to fix it. (thank god) As you would expect, the front seats are comfortable, but you should suspect the rear. They are only there for appearance mostly. You can sit in them, but you would not want to for long. But thats not the appeal. I get people who want to race me every day. I turn (most) of them down, because i see it too often and i dont really participate in that. My vr-4 is slightly modified, however, producing 450 hp or so. Not really much more than the 320 stock. The engine is very capable, though. I have seen a turbo kit for 1100 hp. Call for pricing indeed. Overall, if you want performance and great looks, and resale vale, and you dont want to be yet ANOTHER honda out there, go for the vr-4. If you can find one.
