Pros: Cheap, Vibrate function, 3 year warranty vs. 1yr Motorola
Cons: Poor range, where is the 3 watts power? Monitor button same as PTT
Full battery on both radios, Both Midlands set to HIGH POWER, Motorola on Channel 17, Midland Channel 18.
Terrain: LA area, industrial buldings power lines, in car.
Test: Drove down the street with one of each radios on and one person in the office with the matching sets. Set odometer in car.
Results: .5 miles both radios lost communication. Motorola 5710 (5 mile advertised) had better range than Midland.
