By combining Hot Key functionality with the familiar flat design, Microsoft Internet Keyboard brings function and flair to your system. Hot Keys are special shortcut keys that provide quick, one-press access to frequently used programs and commands. You can browse the Web, start e-mail, open My Computer and more - all at the touch of a button. Using the IntelliType Pro keyboard software, you can customize the keyboard to fit your personal working style. You can reassign most of the Hot Keys to perform a command or open a file or Web page. Most popular commands are supported including special Microsoft Office commands.

Almost perfect

Pros: Standard key layout, unlike newer Microsoft Keyboards. Extra buttons for Sleep, MyComputer and Calculator.
Cons: No volume up/down or mute buttons for sound control.
The Bottom Line:
Perfect for anyone looking for a standard keyboard layout, great feel and a few extra functions.
After trying a wireless version of this keyboard, I really missed the LEDs to indicate whether the Cap Lock, Num Lock or Scroll Lock was activated. I ordered the newer Microsoft MultiMedia Keyboard only to find that they had eliminated the Insert & Scroll Lock keys, and rearranged the Page Up/Down, Home/End & Delete keys. They also added an F Lock key, needed to override the new default settings for all of the Function keys.
Since I was happy with the feel and layout of the Wireless Internet Keyboard and I knew this was the same, with the return of the missing LEDs, I got one of these and I am a happy camper. Because I work on many other computers, I don't want to become accustomed to a strange keyboard layout at home.
I also like the labels on the front of the keys for the Control Key shortcuts that my wife has trouble remembering. The lighter gray wrist-rest shows dust less than the darker gray wrist-rest and multimedia control area on the newer style of MS MultiMedia Keyboard.
Now if only it had control buttons for the sound, without reprogramming and relabeling some of the Internet keys, it would have rated a 'Perfect'. Although I don't find that I use the Internet keys at all, I just don't like running the extra memory-resident software required when you assign special functions to the keys.
