Pros: Styling
Interior Room
Smooth Ride
Great handling
Affordable price
Warranty
Cons: Stiff seats
Mediocre sound system ("i" model)
Slightly sluggish in low gears (4-cyl engine)
I bought a 2005 Mazda Tribute in June and really have nothing negative to say about it... at least nothing major. It rides beautifully for an SUV, and it boasts a lot more interior room than one might think. For a small SUV, you can easily fit 5 people, plus there's plenty of leg room in back. I looked at a Ford Escape and for basically the same amount of money you get nicer styling (in my opinion) and a better warranty. The seats are a little firm, but not uncomfortable. I bought the 4-cylinder "i" model, which tends to be a little sluggish when first accelerating, but certainly has plenty of power to pass other cars. Overall, it's a great car to drive and not bad on gas either. I'm looking forward to the electronic 4 wheel drive this winter. Definitely an SUV worth looking at!
