I purchased one of these air conditioners last year. Everyone advised me not to buy a portable air conditioner because they said that it wouldn't cool like a window one....Well, they all were WRONG!.. I now have two (2)..I purchased another this year for my kitchen. I don't need anyone to install them which is wonderful. They really are great! The only thing you have to do is open the window and put the hose out, which is also included. It comes with something like a sliding screen to attach the hose to it..it fits any window...and you can keep your screens in. They also have a dehumidifier in them and you can also just use the fan..they are quiet and COLD!..Oh yes and you don't have to empty any water like the sales people all told me I would have to do..Another asset is they do not get moldy and mildew like the window air conditioners do because they are not outside. The air conditioner is approximately 35 inches high, 13 inches wide and 20 inches deep. It also has wheels and I can move it from room to room if needed. It has electronic controls with a remote control and a 24 hour timer. You do not have to buy any filters for it..the filter is washable. If you need an air conditioner..get one of these..you probably will get another one just as I did. You won't be disappointed. Thank You...Maytag! I don't have to beg my other half to install the air conditioners anymore and I don't have to try to get rid of mold and mildew in the unit!
