GREAT SURPRISE!

I bought this game for my son cheap used and was not expecting much. But after studying the book and learning all the things you can change or do I was totally impressed!

I'm a mother who does not watch football or play games. My son (10) should be writing this. After getting him the Xbox for Christmas I've got him bout 20 different games, some new and expensive, plenty older ones.

He LOVES this game. Dad got into it pretty good too, they have great time designing the teams and battling on the field. Graphics are super, music sounds great. Excellent comments and crowd cheering.

After learning and playing this game for over a month my son still is not bored. That is an achievement, most games collect dust after few plays.. It was awesome watching my boys spending time together with dad watching Super Bowl, kids understand the the rules and are much more into it than before we got this game.

I am iffy explaining about the modes or improvements comparing to previous games, not my niche. But after reading reviews for this game from other sites it does score high. It has been called a classic and a must have. Supposedly it is better than some newer versions. I failed to read a review that would say the game is bad.

The manual and on screen instructions and learning all the modes and tricks are little complicated but there is so many options to play or create that it is expected. My kids learned how to navigate the manual much quicker than I did. They are not frustrated so I assume it is clearly written!

Only minus some people have been complaining is that you cannot play this Xbox version online comparing to the same Playstation2 version. To us so far that has not been an issue. You can have up to 4 players which is nice.

According to www.madden2004.com this game was selected the Game of the Year in the 2003 Video Game Awards hosted by Spike TV. It beat Tony Hawk Underground among others.

Cover features Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Dwayne Vick. First NFL Madden game was released 1989. Madden series carries Oakland Raiders Super Bowl Coach and famous color commentator John Madden name.
