The Bottom Line:
Buy this brewer, you'll love it, as long as you don't use supermarket pods
Our office recently purchased a Bunn Mycafe pod brewer. We had had problems in the past where no one would make coffee because no one wanted to clean up from the previous pot, and single cup seemed like the perfect soloution. We were all excited about having coffee, and purchased 1 bag of folgers french vanilla pods, and a bag each of regular and decaf by douwe egberts at a local supermarket. The concept was great, and everybody liked playing with the new coffee maker, but unfortunately nobody liked the coffee. We also found that water leaked from the resivoir bottom. The leak was fixed by making sure it was firmly pressed down into the machine after each filling. The coffee problem was more difficult, after searching online I found ColonialCoffeeCompany.com they sell special pods that have more coffee than store bought brands, and are individually sealed. What a difference it made. I love the mocha java, its a great rich and flavorful, yet smooth tasting medium roast. For flavored coffee drinkers we ordered french vanilla, which was great, but the flavor drinkers have all switched to vanilla fudge swirl, and french toast. The choices are amazing and the quality is even better. These pods have really brought out the best qualities in the mycafe. Everyone can have whatever flavor they want whenever they want it. no need to make a pot of french vanilla decaf that will be dumped after burning, just make 1 cup. You can even select your size to fill a travel mug for the ride home, or make a half cup for a 4pm boost. Though make sure you check the cup size setting before brewing, you don't want 12oz in your 6oz cup! I highly reccomend this machine, and don't be dissapointed by supermarket coffee.
