great bargain basement webcam, useless still camera

Pros: nice sturdy design, webcam works with standard uses well
Cons: resolution too small, memory too small, memory erased with dead batteries, oversimplification of buttons
Most of these reviews are older than dirt, so this camera needs a modern perspective because now the camera's outdated and cheap (I got it for $25 new), as opposed to the $250 camera it was in an earlier review. Oddly enough, the old reviews matched my thoughts completely. If I wanted only a digital camera, I don't know if this would be worth $1. The resolution is just too small to do anything with it, the camera loses all your pictures if the batteries go dead, and there are only three buttons which makes doing anything a headache. As a webcam, though, you don't need any buttons. The software's not bad and has free updates online, and it's connected and powered through an everyday USB 1.1 port. I've been using it with Yahoo Messenger, and while the picture's way too small for stills, it's certainly enough for a webcam.
