Linksys makes home networking a breeze

Pros: Easy set up, good range, good bandwitch, reliability
Cons: Not great range, 2.4GHz may conflict with new wireless phones
The Bottom Line:
A must-get for the home-network. It is the easiest and most affordable way to network a home, and best of all, its purely wireless!
I invited a technichian to my house to get an estimate on how much it would cost to wire my house so I could network my DSL connection among my various computers. He said 800$. When I heard 800$, I decided to try a different approach. I tried the Linksys Wireless Access Point and I've never looked back.
The usual family who has switched over from dialup internet to the broadband access of DSL and Cable has wondered about the possibilities of creating a home network. Many are frightened by the daunting task that requires the proverbial wiring and configuring that is stigmatically required. Linksys has ended all of the confusion with a simple to install, simple to run and even simpler to network Acess Point. The Linksys Wireless-G Access Point offers 10 Megabit per second wireless access with the ease and comfort of simple plug and play commands.
Installation was a breeze, I removed the Access Point from the box and read the well illustrated and "idiot proof" poster/chart. After installing the cd and hooking up the access point to my DSL modem, the CD took me over the process step by step. It was easy to set up the main point. After setting up the base of the network, I attached the remote access point (a separate and optional feature) to another computer and installed its respective cd. In 5 minutes I had internet access in all areas of my house with reasonable connections strength. From the basement of my home, the wireless internet access was running perfectly two stories up in my bedroom. I was so impressed by the 100$ dollars I spent on the product that I think of myself of a computer wizard, even though I surely am not. You can, too be a wizard with this excellent product.
