good wireless network solution

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Compatible with the WEP-11 right out of the box

Cons: lost link once after 4 days of use

The Bottom Line:
If you want to bridge 2 wired networks then it is a great solution.

Author's Review
I have 2 computers running downstairs on a wired LAN. One is a desktop and one my laptop from work. I have a DSL connection running through a company provided firewall/router into a 4 port hub. When my son got home from college with his desktop, he needed access to the DSL connection from his room upstairs (about 55 feet away). His desktop has an ethernet card for connection to a wired network. What I wanted to do was do a bridge between 2 wired LANS. By installing a WEP-11 upstairs and the WAP-11 downstairs this was accomplished with no complications. You can use 2 Wap-11s in bridge mode to do this, but then you need a router on both LANS. As soon as we hooked them up then made connection and he was up and running.
