Better than renting from Cable Co.

Pros: Good Price. Good Tech Support
Cons: None Yet
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this modem to anyone who anticipates keeping their cable internet service for a while and is renting a modem from the cable company.
I purchased this modem for our cable internet service. The idea was that the cable company charges $15 a month to rent a cable modem. This unit cost $99, meaning it should pay for itself in seven months. It was on the list of our cable company's recommended modems.
My initial desire was to hook it up using the USB connection to a Windows XP computer. However, they don't have a USB driver that supports XP yet, even though they think that the Win2000 driver would work. An email to their Tech Support was answered promptly and explained this issue clearly and recommended using the ethernet connection to hook this modem to an XP computer. The ethernet connection was simple and has worked well.
The modem is equally as fast as the Toshiba (PCX2100?) we were renting and faster than prior cable modems we had used.
