Front side airbags, ABS, and traction control are standard. An antiskid system is optional. Optional head-protecting curtain side airbags were added midyear. Also optional for the first time are heated rear seats, navigation system, and xenon headlights. Power-adjustable pedals and one-touch power front windows are newly standard. Heated and cooled front seats are standard on all but the base V6 model. Lincoln says noise levels are reduced with more-effective sound insulation. Styling changes include revisions to nose, tail, and wheels. The cabin gets some bright trim. Minimize

Lincoln LS

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: more powerful than before. smooth. sleek.

Cons: no room for rear passengers! what happened to the luxurious interior?

The Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a car that can cause some significant turbulence on the streets,go for Lincoln LS V8. If you want luxury this is not your call.

The 2003 Lincoln LS is indefinitely more powerful and sleek than the 2002 model. I drove the V8 sport model and was particularly impressed by the tip-tronic option that is standard on the V8 models. The new model does have a lot of power (thanks to the 280 horses). It is smooth on highways and well built for city roads. However, in comparison to the previous model I found that there is an acute shortage of leg/head room for the rear passengers. The previous model could easily accommodate 5 adult passengers but this is hard to say about the new one. Also the new LS has lost its luxury appeal. The interior more or less reflects that of japanese cars - something like Acura. Overall, if you are looking for not a "big" car but a "big" car i.e. not big in terms of size but big in terms of muscle and power - LINCOLN LS would be the right choice.
