May be cheap--but it'll cost you in ink!!!

Pros: 4 functions(print, copy, scan, fax) for a very cheap price.
Cons: Ink!!! It uses way too much ink--which will cost you in the long run!
I just bought the new Lexmark 1240 while my Epson printer is shipped back for repairs. I wanted something inexpensive to fill the gap. At about $30, I thought the Lexmark x1240 fit the bill. It does not come with a black ink cartridge--that cost me another $20. Overall, the Lexmark 1240 offers great functions for the cost: print, copy, scan, and fax. I haven't used the fax, but I've used the print, copy and scan aspects. Print quality is okay, as is the copy. The scanner takes a bit more time to work than my Epson all-in-one, but it does the job without being as user friendly. The biggest problem I found is the amount of ink this printer burns through. I've printed maybe 3 dozen pages, and I'm already at the 1/2 ink left mark and have used about 2/3's of my color. By comparison, my Epson would still have about 4/5 black ink left and a similar amount of color.
