This is a great toy for a child!

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Easy to use, educational, good value with loaded games, auto shut off feature.

Cons: Game prices at $20 each, should be closer to $10-12 in my opinion.

The Bottom Line:
I would highly recommend this for any child, it is educational and fun. My husband and I have also played with it!

I bought this for my daughter who had just turned 4 as one of her Christmas gifts to give her something that would hopefully keep her busy on long car rides and maybe even teach her a few things. I was very pleasantly surprised when this quickly became her favorite toy and it was very educational. Within a day she was recognizing letters, numbers, and having a blast at the same time. I had only bought one additional game for the system but it didn't matter because she loved the 3 preloaded games that it came with more than the game we purchased in addition to the system.

I love that this is something that she can play with when she is bored and it is educational at the same time. I think it is great that she quickly picked up some learnings that are typical for her age but were things she has not yet expressed interest in.

We bought the princess game cartridge in addition to the games it comes preloaded with and she is less interested in that game. We did travel to disney this year so I thought that would be a hit but she really enjoys the free games that were preloaded more.

Batteries have not yet been an issue and it has the auto shutoff feature to ensure that it is not left on when not in use. Clarity of the screen and the sound/volume is very good. It is also very easy to use (both touch screen with a stylus or buttons) so the preschooler does not get caught up and need help navigating through the games.

I wish I had a better understanding of the games prior to having to purchase them. They are all brand heavy (Dora, Sponge Bob, Princesses, Nemo, etc) so you tend to pick based on what the child is in to versus the actual game.

Price of the system was reasonable, games could be a bit less expensive.
