Honey, Is The Coffee On?

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Great beverages and handy timer

Cons: Tricky Instruction Manual

The Bottom Line:
Over 4 years old now and still works great!

Author's Review
"Honey, is the coffee on?" had become my spouse's morning ritual greeting. With my thinking cap on, I ventured out to find us a coffee/espresso maker with a timer.

We really enjoy this coffeemaker and I especially love that now I don't have to crawl out from under my warm blanket on cold mornings to put the coffee on!

The instruction manual provided is a bit tricky to understand if you have never made an espresso/cappucino/latte before. The rest of the manual is very well done and the clock/timer is easy to operate.

The end products are very delicious. We did not like the optional gold filter you can purchase, as we found the coffee came through very murky. The paper filters work very well.

The body of the coffeemaker itself is a durable black plastic (white is also available). The hatch covering the water reservoir is a bit flimsy, but the attachments used to make the actual beverages are dishwasher safe and very sturdy.

Any coffee connoisseur would truly enjoy this Krups Il Caffe Bistro.

UPDATE 2003: The coffee maker started leaking water from the underside, everytime we made coffee. Out of curiousity, we took it apart and discovered the water tube had popped off and only needed to be reinserted back into place. The old guy works fine now and we are still pleased with it.
