Pros: Makes a real espresso shot. Wicked steamer for cheap.

Cons: Too much plastic and poor measuring marks on the coffee maker side.

I'm house sitting and the owners of the home have this Krups combo unit. Well, I've used it to make coffee plenty but never made a latte in my life, although I love to drink them.

As a coffee maker this Krups is fine, although I do have a couple issues. No sight gauge on the side of the maker and some of the measure markings on the carafe are obscured. So, you kind of have to guess if you aren't making a full pot. The quality of the brew is great, no complaints.

On to the fun part! The espresso maker and steamer. Wow, I'm thoroughly impressed! First it makes a really decent shot and is easy to set up. Now, the best part... The steamer. Man, can this thing put out some steam. Ever try and steam/froth milk with a lousy unit and run out of steam or have not enough pressure? Well, this Krups for the money is damn good at steaming/foaming milk. Now, before I even attempted foaming milk I looked for tutorials on line. Armed with some info, I removed the "super foamer" attachment and proceeded to steam my milk. Now, I'm no barista, I'm a newbie and I'm making Mocha Lattes with micro-foam that are better to me than the stuff I'm getting @ Starbucks. Whoo Hoo!!!
