Birthday present to me

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Cons: None? Haven't had it long enough that any jump out.

The Bottom Line:
I recommend this camera for its ease of use and quality of photos.

Author's Review
I bought this camera as a birthday present for myself. I was getting ready to go on a long-planned overseas trip and decided I needed something to take some really good pictures. I wanted something with a moderate mega-pixel resolution but with some high-powered optical zoom (I was anticipating seeing some monkeys in jungle canopy and desperately wanted some pictures!). I did my research and picked this camera.

Physically, this camera is a little larger than my previous, but I liked the feel of it. It holds well and isn't too inconvenient to carry around in a case. I made sure to attach the lens cover to it right away. The controls all feel secure. The only problem I am having with it is a tendency for my fingers to open the card slot (located on the bottom of the camera), but that is most likely user error.

This camera has a lot more features than I understand, in terms of giving the user control over the pictures. I mostly use the auto setting, but have played with the other settings. The movies are good quality and with a larger memory card, you can get a good amount on there.

I am very happy with the pictures that I have taken and with the software.
