With a 525-watt motor to handle bread doughs and thick cookie batters, this is KitchenAid's most powerful stand mixer, a professional-grade appliance with a heavy, rugged, all-metal construction (31.7 pounds) which prevents "counter walk" on the mixer's rubber feet. It has a 6-quart, polished stainless-steel bowl with an ergonomic handle and a two-piece pouring shield made of heavyweight plastic to provide a large chute for adding ingredients. Accompanying the mixer are a burnished flat beater, a burnished dough hook, and a big wire whip. On the front of the powerhead is a hinged cover for the hub to which KitchenAid's many mixer accessories attach. Minimize

Great Mixer!!!

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Heavy duty, many attachments to expand functionality. Quality. Large bowl capacity. Nice looking.

Cons: Very heavy. Best to leave out. That's the trade-off for the powerful motor.

The Bottom Line:
Great quality mixer for people with high mixing demands. KitchenAid is a leader in mixer quality and this model is no exception.

I do a LOT of cooking... big batches mostly (I am Italian). This mixer is great for large batches of dough (Bread, Pasta, etc.) This is a large capacity, heavy duty quality mixer. I do not understand other reviewers stating otherwise.

This mixer is great for all your mixing needs... cake batters, bread doughs, whipping cream, mashed potatoes. There is no job too tough for this model.

This mixer has a bowl raising mechanism instead of the tilting head found on the smaller models. The bowl raising can take a little getting used to if you have not used it before, but it is really no big deal. I do not see an advantage or disadvantage to either style.

I have the grinder attachment and have processed my share of game, mostly deer, saving the cost of commercial processing. I also have the sausage stuffing attachment that I also use, both for processing game and making regular sausages too.

Another thing I like about this mixer is the ease of cleanup. The large stainless bowl is easy to wash and the beater attachments clean up quickly as well. A wipe down of the base, and you are done.

You will not be disappointed with this mixer. The more you use a mixer, the more you should have this one.
