Pros: different colors, many different attachments, speeds are great, not too loud, the stainless steel bowl

Cons: heavy, and sometimes does not mix all the flour at the bottom of the bowl

I would certainly buy this if you do any kind of baking and cleanup is a breeze!

I received the KitchenAid Artisan mixer as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend. Baking with it is an absolute joy. It speeds up the process of baking just about anything. There are a ton of colors that these come in which is a huge plus if it is to be an addition to your kitchen counter. The only color left was red when my boyfriend went to get one, but I love it. Even though my kitchen has no red in it, it still is a nice addition. Because of my cats and their hair, I keep it in the pantry so that there is no lingering fur, but lugging it out of the pantry sometimes is hard. It is a very heavy machine. Not that I cannot carry it, but I am always afraid that I will drop it. I would be wary of purchasing this mixer for an older person, however if it is to stay stationary on their counter, I would. It looks nice on a counter. The only real problem I have found with the mixer, which is not a big deal, is that it sometimes does not mix all the flour at the bottom of the bowl. It happens occasionally and I just stir it in when I am done. This is not a cheap mixer. It works wonders and my cookies and banana bread have been better since using it. It is an expencive appliance, but if you bake at all, I feel like it is well worth the money.
