This South Korean automakers minivan returns for its second season with minimal changes. Sedona has standard V6 power, 7-passenger seating, and comes in a single body length, which is about 2 inches longer than a regular-length Dodge Caravan. LX and uplevel EX models are offered. Both use a 3.5-liter V6 teamed with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Dual sliding rear side doors are standard, but power doors and side airbags are unavailable. ABS is optional. The LXs 2nd-row seat is a bench; the EX has buckets. This year, the LX gains a standard AM/FM/CD player, central door-lock button, and remote fuel-door release. EX models add additional stereo speakers and a second remote for the keyless entry. All get new taillights. Kia is owned by Hyundai and duplicates Hyundais warranty: 5-years/60,000-mi. bumper-to-bumper, 10/100,000 powertrain, and 5-years/unlimited roadside assistance.

I Love It

Pros: PRICE, comfort, customer service, style, engine
Cons: heater doesn't work in the back due to design flaw
The Bottom Line:
Don't overlook this one.
I bought this van in a pinch, when our old Isuzu Rodeo was giving us major problems. I needed something dependable, and fast. What's more dependable than a ten year warranty? Anyway, the first dealership we went to was horrible, but the second was outstanding. All of the other vans were $10,000 MORE than the Kia, and the Kia had more options!!! A few thousand miles later, and I had to take it in to get the electrical components worked on. First the 'door ajar' light came on, then the indoor lights just would not shut off when all the doors were closed. But you know what, I don't even care about that because of the awesome service people at the Kia dealership. That is the best customer service I have ever received. Also, the van has so many positive attributes, this can be easily overlooked. I love the steering, the sound system, the fact it will play my CD's and my old tapes, the way you can take all the back seats out to have the storage space of a truck, the get up and go. You don't have to worry about keeping up with traffic in this thing. It doesn't look cheap, or drive cheap. I was one of those people who never wanted to drive a van, but four kids later, if I wanted something new it had to be a van. Now I don't mind driving it, actually I prefer it over a lot of other cars I've owned in the past. And when the day comes for me to start looking for something smaller again, I'll be heading to Kia.
