Pros: Nice design
Cons: it broke down immediately
The Bottom Line:
Thanks but no more Kalorik products for me!
We bought this kalorik FE 14206 300 Watts Juicer from Walmart, actually ordered it online.
Our previous juicer was so ancient that we decided to go with another one. Kalorik juicer looked appealing to us, the price was good - $25. We ordered it from Walmart's website and waited for a week and a half to get it delivered to the closest Walmart so that we later go there and pick it up.
When we got to Walmart, we had to wait for more than 30 mins to pick it up. We didn't know it was only the beginning of the trouble.
Next day I decided to make some carrot juice for myself. I love carrots - they make delicious juice if you add a little sugar, or you can go without. Anyway, as you can guess no carrot juice was made for me by this kalorik juicer at that time.
The juicer started stinking suspiciously strong as it the plastic was melting. Okay - I thought to myself - perhaps it is new and it needs some time to get rid of the smell. But the smell did not go away and eventually it simly stopped working at all. I guess the engine went down.
Does anyone know if 300 Watts was not enough to juice a carrot for me? It could certainly be my fault for sure, but when I get a juicer, I expect it to juice something else aside an orange. Plus the walmart website we got it from did not say anything about juicing certain soft fruit only.
All in all, I was fairly disappointed. It cost me a trip to walmart, time wasted and some carrots that went down the drain. I'll never deal with this brand again.
PS.
Frankly speaking, I didn't open up the manual because I was sure I knew how to operate a juicer :)
I just googled for some more information on this brand, it does say no carrots or other stuff harder than citrus fruit are allowed. Some reviewers from other websites, however, claimed they still juiced their carrots regardless.
I guess I'll change my rating to a little higher, I guess it was partially my fault that it went down.
