With 14 grind settings and a precision milling system, this electric coffee mill grinds coffee beans to any fineness without overheating them and spoiling their full flavor and aroma. Two ranges of grind settings are marked: one for fine grinds suitable for espresso and Turkish-style coffee, and the other for coarser grinds suitable for drip machines, French presses, and percolators. Selecting a grind requires only a twist of the ring under the coffee-bean container, which holds 8 ounces of beans and can be removed for cleaning. The ground-coffee container is permanently attached for convenience and has a rounded bottom to facilitate scooping. There's a timer dial calibrated by the number of cups desired, so the grinder uses only the amount of beans immediately needed. A measuring spoon (for 1 cup coffee) is included. The mill has cord storage underneath and carries a one-year warranty against defects.

Fresh cup every time!

Pros: Versatility in grinding coffee beans. Get fresh coffee every time.
Cons: None for the mill, but wish coffee beans were a lot cheaper.

The product
I bought the Braun Coffee and Espresso Mill for my mother as a Mother's day present several years ago for approximately $40 CDN including sales tax. The mill comes with:
- 1 measuring spoon
- 14 dial settings, with settings for espresso and filter coffee and others in between to adjust to your taste
- detachable cask/container with lid that "catches" ground coffee (the smaller container on the right in the picture is the detachable cask/container)
- timer in seconds from 1-60 seconds
Operation
To operate, plug the power chord, put your favourite coffee beans into the grinder (the clear container on the left in the picture), adjust the grinding setting (from 1-14), and then set the timer.... the ground coffee goes straight to the container on the right and you have fresh ground coffee in seconds!
Noise level
As for noise - it does not sound any different from the mill used at a nice cafe.
Why this mill, not others?
I chose this mill instead of other coffee mills on the market because:
1) the Braun brand. Like Black and Decker, it does have a long history and a good reputation.
2) 14 settings - this gives room for getting the exact kind of grind that you want for your coffee.
3) the price - it was on sale when I bought it. The price was at least $5 CDN cheaper than regular price.
Drawbacks
The only drawback would probably be the fact that I still haven't found a way to clean the container where you put the coffee beans. It is easy to clean the container that "catches" the ground coffee, however.
Recommended for?
In conclusion, this mill is recommended for all coffee lovers who want that perfect cup right in their own home.
