This single-CCD marvel lets you record high definition native 16:9 content in the 1280 x 720P mode at 30 frames per second. Your recordings are stored on inexpensive, widely available Mini-DV cassettes, capable of up to 63 minutes recording time per cassette. You can play them back directly from the JY-HD10U camcorder onto an HDTV monitor or projector with component inputs, or dub them to the D-VHS format using the IEEE-1394 interface. The results are absolutely startling--like nothing you've ever seen from a camcorder in this price range! \n

Pros: True 720p HDTV that is affordable Beautiful Picture
Cons: Bad manual controls Editing Limits
The Bottom Line:
This was designed by God,
but built by humans. That means it is close to perfect,
but not. But for 3300, it's close enough.
This is a paradigm shifting item.
Filmmaking will change.
Home videomaking will change.
Gone are the days of bad images.
Sure, you need a HDTV to view how insanely great the images are, but that is around the corner for all of us- next year, or the year after, we will all have a HD set.
In the market for a camera? GET THIS ONE.
You are buying into the FUTURE.
I am an indy filmmaker, and I am about to make a feature film with it- despite some of it's limits.
HD is HD, and nothing compares at this price range.
T. Patrick Murray has not been this excited about a product since the first DV camera.
This is the real thing. Get a HD monitor and check it out.
