GR-DVL310/510 : why not, it is the best for the price !

Pros: image quality feature for price software
Cons: battery
The Bottom Line:
you won't regret it
I was asking myself about buying a camcorder because I was about to go in Europe....
I choose this one because it's one of the best of all.
some people are saying that it is looking like a toy... allright... but yours, is it doing half mine is doing for the price ?
It doesn't have carlZeiss written on the lens.... allright but Deawoo (ex-car manufacturer) was saying that Porsches was designing their engines and suspension... (no comments)
if you have the money for, try it... it's a good choice...
I have a GR-DVL310U which is the same as the 510 but with only a serial connection (no USB) and no still pictures capacity on memory cards...
I like it because :
- it can be used manually : shutter speed, focus, white balance, constant gain for amplification (avoid noise when light is low).....
- it makes great pictures even with the image stabilization ON (reducing resolution)
- it is easy to use
- when no DV connections are used, one can use the software included to make a nice final film with a simple VCR, because EFFECTS CAN BE APPLIED WHEN THE CAMCORDER IS READING...
- night vision in COLOR...
BUT :
- battery life
- the image stabilization is a little too efficient...(when making a travelling with it is ON, the image seems to move by steps...)
- no external microphone connector
