Many problems with the JVC DR-MV1S

Pros: In theory, it offers lots of features, dual tuners, play and record.
Cons: Mechanical quality is poor and I would avoid this particular unit.
The machine would turn on by itself and flash the "Loading" readout on the front of the unit. I couldn't turn it off with the power button, i had to disconnect the recorder from the power. Sent it to JVC and they fixed it. I am now having problems dubbing, the unit shuts down when i am into the dubbing process for about 30 minutes. NOW, it could be the tape is 'write protected' and that is causing it to shut down, i am not sure.
In general, I would give this unit a POOR RATING and would not buy it. I think I might try Sony
