I have had the Cobra 500 for 2 weeks and I love it! I'm in the Navy stationed on Guam and I use for navigation out in the ocean so I can make it to hidden dive sites that can only be found by GPS coordinates. It took awhile for it to initially lock onto satellites when I took it out of the box, but subsequent uses have locked very quickly within a minute (cold start). I absolutely love the ability to save a particular track that I have made. I use the feature during night time navigation when I cannot see where I'm going so I just follow the track on the GPS that I made during a previous daytime navigation.
The Cobra 500 GPS unit has worked great for me!

Pros: Joystick is great for quick menu navigation. Small, lightweight. Great price.
Cons: It took a long time to initially lock onto satellites out of the box.
