I purchased this portable DVD player after much shopping around and comparing various models. My main reason for the purchase was to entertain my 2 year old on car rides to Grandma's house which is 5 hours away. I am very pleased with the until so far. The screen clarity is fantastic! You can clearly see the movie from anywhere in the back seat. The unit is also VERY easy to use and has good sound for a portable device. I also tried the cassette adapter idea I read in another review and it does sound like a home theater. I have not encountered any of the problems some of the others reviewers have mentioned. I have played through several DVD's and can't find anything to complain about. I bought my unit at Circuit City for the same price as Wal-Mart.com since they price matched the actual player and Wal-mart's 3 year service plan price. Total price for player and plan including tax was $213!

Another note is that one of the reasons I bought this player was so that I could hook a VCR up to it in order to play some of my daughter's VHS tapes (we have a power converter for the car to power the VCR) and it works great for that! You can also hook up video game systems the same way!
