I know that there are better units out there but most of them cost twice as much as this unit. I have had this unit for 6 months and have used it a great deal. I have had no problems with the quality of the unit. To the contrary, it has been dropped and still works well.

I would have appreciated a more standard battery, but this is not a big deal to me. The battery life is between 3 and 4 hours. I have been pleasantly surprised by the battery.

Compatability??? WOW!!! I can play all sorts of formats on this unit. It is much more compatable than either of my high end home dvd players. It plays every format that I have tried. I have used Super DVD Ripper to rip my dvds to my hard drive. Then I burn four ripped regular length dvds(THAT IS RIGHT, FOUR) on a recordable dvd. This is great for the road. I take four dvds with me an have 16 dvds on those four dvds. It is a great deal. BTW, none of my other dvd players will play these ripped dvds. I am really excited about the compatability.

Picture quality and sound are great. You can't expect surround sound quality on built in speakers but I am again pleasantly surprised at the quality of the internal speakers. I frequently take this unit on the plane and listen with headphones, it works great.

This unit comes with all of the connections you will need. Unlike other units, it comes with all of the cables. That saves you $20!

Walmart has this unit for about $180. You can pick up a three year warranty on the walmart.com website for $22 more. Hey, I am not a fan of extended warranties but if you worried about quality... what is $22 for a three year warranty??? With the warranty, this unit is awesome right at $200!!!!

ALSO!!!! BUY THE CASELOGIC neoprene case. This unit fits nicely in it and then that case will go in your luggage or carry on easier than the bulkier carrying cases. I also bought a case logic car bag that mounts on the back seats. I would not buy that, these seat mount units are bulky.
