Since 1987, trends have come and gone. But the fast and versatile Soundgear basses continue to lay down the groove in every style imaginable in every venue possible. Now in 2008, Ibanez offers a vast array of different Soundgear models including neck-thru-body, fretless and left-handed. For 2008, all SR300 models have been upgraded with 3-band Style Sweeper EQs. The 2008 Soundgear narrow neck is perfect for 5- and 6-strings so extended range travel is as physically comfortable as it is musically exhilarating. Now, everyone who has ever desired a premier bass can afford an SR with pro features. Viva La Bass! Viva Ibanez! Thinner necks with thinner nuts than traditional basses. Lightweight, balanced, comfort-contoured bodies. New versatile EXF angled pickups have equal spacing between pickup to string for balanced output levels. GSR models with high output pickups offer famous Soundgear pro comfort and playability at “entry-level” prices.

Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: NONE
I was looking for a new bass, and I had no clue what one was really good, for not a lot of money. So, I looked around. I wanted a bass that had the sound of the bassist from Cannibal Corpse. He uses Modulus basses, and I looked for one of those, and they are like 1000 dollars for just a really simple model. Well, I wasn't gonna go for that, seeing that I only had a small cash flow. I went to Guitar Center, and asked the guy in the bass deparment what would be a good bass for the kind of music I played. Right off the bat, he recommended this bass. I didn't even plug it in. I took it off the stand, and i played for about 5 minutes with it, and I ordered one. The guy said it would take 2-3 weeks to get in. Well, that was the only problem. It took 3 months to get in due to the fact that Ibanez was in the new model year, and they had to make all the new basses. So, finally it came in. I had a Fender BXR 300 combo amp. I didn't want that anymore, so i traded it in, along with some other things to get the new Ampeg B5R Rackmount Bass Head. Let me tell you, these two combined, just explode with sound. I can't explain the amount off bass you can get out of these two. IT IS GREAT.
