The first sport utility vehicle from South Koreas leading automaker was a four-door, five-passenger wagon. Loosely based on the compact Sonata sedans platform, the Santa Fe was priced to compete with compact car-based SUVs such as the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and new Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute. Author's Review
We were a little worried about power after reading some reviews asking for more stoplight power and the hype over horsepower ratings changes but after a trip to the mountains of NC and seeing how well it handles 10 mile inclines with cruise on and how it climbed real steep grades, we are very happy with the performance. We got nearly 25 mph going up and close to 30 coming back home,

We opted for ABS and traction control over seldom usable 4 wheel drive and its extra weight.

My wife loves being able to step in at her 5' 1" height and still be riding high on the road. I could use another inch of legroom but am plenty comfortable at my 6 feet.
