Works great but is loud

Pros: Effective, Price
Cons: Noisy
This is my third air cleaner and I must say this is the noisiest. The filter works great in our master bedroom. I notice a definite improvement in my breathing (asthma) within a few minutes of turning it on, but even at it's lowest setting, across the room and facing away from me the filter is loud. It's about as loud as the vent fan in our bathroom or the vent over our stove at a high setting.
The price and shape of this filter however can't be beat. My honeywell was only a little quieter but much larger and awkward shaped. The Hunter fits perfectly in a corner or against a shelf. Also, I paid $50 at OSH for the hunter where as the Honeywell cost me $150. My other air cleaner is a Radio shack Environizer which is substantially quieter then both Honeywell and Hunter but doesn't do much in terms of cleaning.
