The Bottom Line: 
I'd recommend this product for its performance and ease of use. However, it is not for anyone with a lot of pet hair or similar debris.

I purchased this machine based on reviews I'd read on various sites, and have to agree this is a satisfactory
machine.
The unit is compact and easy to move around with its carrying handle. It has very powerful suction and an effective beater. I love the fingertip controls, and the variable suction is great. Necessary, too, as the powerhead is so strong its like trying to control a Tasmanian devil when using the high suction on low pile berber carpet!
Only the crevice tool & dusting brush ride on board, and they are small and cheap- the plastic bristles on the brush are too harsh for delicate items and the crevice tool is too short to be of much use. They are retained by friction, and my experience with this is they will loosen over time and come off frequently during use.
I'd much prefer longer natural bristles on the dusting brush.
The wide power head covers a lot of territory, so I don't understand why the bare floor brush wasn't made wider as well- it doesn't store on board the vacuum.
The power brush attachment is only air driven, but pretty vigorous and really does a number on furniture and carpeted stairs.
The canister is easy to empty, but probably too small for someone with pets. Hair especially seems to collect on the filter. Cleaning the unit after each use appeals to me, but may be a nuisance to others. I don't miss buying bags or filters.
This vacuum seems to be of a higher quality than the Dyson Animal I replaced with it. I got it for a relatively reasonable price, but I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for some upgraded features; ie. larger volume canister, longer cord, & full on board quality tool storage.
