Using hot tap water and cleaning solution, the 12-amp Hoover SteamVac V2 deep cleans carpet fibers, tough stains, and upholstery. It is also suitable for tile, ceramic, marble, and linoleum floors (though not appropriate for hardwoods). Named for its dual-nozzle construction, the cleaner provides efficient water removal and thorough edge-to-edge cleaning. The nozzle design forces hot air into the cleaning path and automatically rinses carpet clean on the backward pull. The SpinScrub brushes agitate ground-in dirt and can be turned off with a simple switch. Using a two-tank design that holds up to a gallon of water at a time, the cleaner automatically blends the cleaning solution, so you do not have to monitor it. Both tanks feature an enclosed design and convenient handles, making them easy to remove and transport. The recovery tank automatically shuts off suction when full and comes with a built-in lint screen. A removable view window on the nozzle lets you see dirty water returning to the machine.

Hoover F7411-900 SteamVac
This steam vac works great! I used my neighbor's Bissell Pro last year to clean my carpets, then decided I had to have a steam cleaner. Being a long-time Hoover fan, I researched all available models and brands locally and on the internet, and after reading such great reviews of the Hoover SteamVac V2 Widepath with AutoRinse feature, I bought it at Target. It cleans like a dream and the carpets dry very fast; faster than they did with the Bissell. It also seemed to go through less cleaning solution than the Bissell.
I did have a problem with the clean water tank's water outlet. It is a spring/rubber plug apparatus, and it started leaking water out of it instead of into the machine after several uses. It didn't become a big enough problem to have to replace it until 10 months after I bought it, and when I took it to the local Hoover Service Center, they said it was a known problem with this type tank. It was still under the original one year warranty, and they replaced the tank, no questions asked. They required proof of purchase (receipt) and needed the model and serial numbers off the machine, but that was it. Very easy, thank you Hoover!
They did ask me if that was the only problem I was having with the machine, and just the way the lady asked the question made me wonder if there were other known common issues with it, but I didn't think to ask her at the time.
After seeing the price tag on the bottom of the replacement tank ($54!) I came home and purchased the upgraded 3-year warranty for $50. I figure if it happens again, the warranty has paid for itself already.
I highly recommend this machine, but I also strongly recommend getting the upgraded 3-year warranty. You still have the original 1-year warranty; the 3-year doesn't kick in until the 1-year expires, so you get 4 years total warranty, no charge for inspection or parts. You just can't beat that!
AutoRinse is a dream and major time-saver.
Better than my neighbor's Bissell

Pros: Cleans great, upholstery tool is great for vehicles, dries fast
Cons: Clean water tank's spring/rubber water outlet is known to have problems
The Bottom Line:
Highly recommended! Cleans great, does the job, decent price. Just buy the extra warranty and you'll have at least 4 great years of use out of it!
