Recommended, especially for apartment dwellers with pets.
Living in an apartment there are two immediate things you notice: there is a LOT of dust, and there is almost NO circulation. Sure, opening the windows will improve the circulation a tiny bit, but depending on the day the air will actually flow into your suite from the hallway....not a good thing if your neighbours like to smoke or cook a lot of smelly food. The dust is my major issue though -- as I'm usually the one cooking the smelly food hehe! The answer for this was getting the Honeywell 50250 air purifier. I've only had this a few days but the difference is clearly noticeable. The air clears up very quickly after cooking and it "feels" like there is less dust, though whether this is purely psychological or not I'll never know. Add to this the fact that I've got a cat and I don't like vacuuming, the air purifier is a great investment.
About the only thing I don't like about this air purifier is that on the highest setting it is kind of loud. It doesn't really matter though, the only times I ever turn it to high are when I leave for work and when I am cooking. Other than that it is on low and then I hardly even notice it!
