Roughly the same size as its roadster rivals, the S2000 has perhaps the highest chassis rigidity of the whole lot, up to and including Chevys formidable Corvette Convertible. A stiff chassis is the fundamental prerequisite for precise handling, because it al-lows suspension engineers to tune spring rates, shock absorber damping, and bushing durometers to achieve exactly what they want in terms of ride and response -- the components arent required to compensate for chassis flex.

Did you know that most Honda sales personnel have yet to even drive one of these cars? Most people that buy them have not test driven them. This is to keep the miles low on the car, or so they say. 5,000 are supposed to be manufactured for the USA and sales were to sky rocket. Due to prices being pushed through the roof with a margin of 4 to 8,000 over MSRP many people who have deposits on this car for months have backed out waiting for the prices to drop. To justify the over-pricing of the car, dealers are putting equipment on the car so that people have no choice but to buy that equipment package...hence, car is over priced.
I would love to be able to tell you about this car from first hand driving experience however, all I have is "riding" experience. We, as sales people aren't even to purchase these cars from our dealership. I will tell you though what owners have said. The attention the car draws is tremendous, they can't travel anywhere without being swamped with gawkers and tons of questions. There is no clock on board, which some don't like. The sound system is very poor quality as theres only 2 speakers and when going over 50 you cant hear the radio or CD. Trunk space is limited so traveling and taking a change of clothes is a problem......pull a trailer, or ship to your destination. Back window should be glass and a hard top should be offered. It will be interesting to see how it performs as this is Honda's first rear wheel drive car.
The positives I've heard are its beautiful, sleek, easy to drive the 6 speed transmission. Its a true roadster due to the handling, balance and braking of the car. The reviews in the car magazines comparing the S2000 to the BMW Z3 and the Porsche Boxster, S2000 out performs the others. Color combinations have all been a plus, everyone really likes them. People that own them have had great fun driving this car and seem to really like them even with the negatives, and dont care what it cost them for ownership.
This car is very compact in design. Large people or people with long legs wont fit in this car. I was watching people at the car show get in and out and it was interesting the number of folks who wouldn't fit this car.
Final note....Before the car was delivered to the dealerships, a video was sent from the President of Honda asking dealers not to price gouge. One of the dealerships was raffling off the car sending the proceeds to breast cancer research...I asked them to please raffle one off so I could just have a breast job so I could sell more cars!!!!
If you are waiting for the price to go down...don't, if you can find one for MSRP my advice is to buy it, enjoy it, and sell it. The price of this car will not go down anytime in the near future.
