New for 1998, the Honda CR-V is available in one 2WD and two 4WD models from the single model first introduced in February 1997. The 1998 CR-Vs are due to be released in February 1998. The CR-V is the first Honda-engineered and designed sport utility vehicle. The CR-V offers 98 cubic-feet of passenger volume. Headroom is 40.5 inches in the front and 39.2 inches in the rear seats. The CR-V comes equipped with air conditioning, AM/FM stereo radio with digital clock, cruise control, rear wiper/washer, power windows, locks and mirrors and 50/50 split folding rear seat. A fold-out picnic table comes standard with all CR-Vs and is housed in the rear cargo compartment floor. The 5-speed manual transmission is now standard on the 4WD models.
