1991 Accord
I bought my first Honda after going through my 2nd American car in less than 6 months. I had a Ford Escort that the engine blew at 114K and got it rebuilt and then it died for the 2nd time at 186K. Then I got another car with 72K that overheated and died soon after. I found a 1991 Accord with 166K in 2004. I had heard that Hondas were good cars but I was still worried about the 166K. I test drove the car and it was way better than any car that I had ever owned. I paid $2,000 for my 1991 Accord. Now 1 year later it has 183K and has only had 1 MINOR problem that cost me less than $50 to fix. I have had regular maint. done on it such as timing belt, tune up, etc. and it runs just as well as the day I bought it. It has very good acceleration when merging on the freeway and has a very smooth, quiet ride. I LOVE MY HONDA!!!! The interior is in PERFECT condition and I am the 3rd owner. The ONLY problem my car has is that the paint on the roof has faded quite a bit, but that's the only spot. But it's very hot here in Texas and the car is 14 years old so I can't complain because my car runs awesome. I will NEVER buy anything but Honda from now on.

The Bottom Line:
If you want an inexpensive, economical car that's VERY dependable buy a 1991-1993 Accord. There are TONS of them still on the road - that should tell you something!
