Pros: great graphics, sound, etc *read review*
Cons: cant punch *a very weak con but read the review*
The Bottom Line:
No game like it, play it, and you'll see why, but if you just trash it, and not play it through, you obviously don't know what precision is.
If you played the first, you know what the second is about. And you probably from there know about the types of things you'll be doing. For those who know nothing, read on, and drool. Weapons include everything from the cool W2000 sniper rifle with laser and a distance finder in the scope when sniping, to a golf club. Thats right, :D, inertia driven steel golf club :D. Between these are assorted shotguns, pistols, rifles, a .50 cal sniping rifle, then a few knives, and fiber cable for close quarters combat in stealth mode. I've seen one person rank this as a shoot em up, boy, what a bland gameplayer. This game lets you decide, if you wanna go in pistol in each hand blasting away you can, you'll probably get the ranking of a mass murderer assuming you make it out alive. This, or you can go in via stealth and disguise, this way is so much fun. Sneak behind a person, use the fiber cable for a quick death, drag them behind an object so guards cant see them and then change into their clothes, conceil your fiber wire and boom. You have become one of them allowing you greater access to the level, minus much of gun fighting as the "run and shoot gamers". For the most part, running and shooting will get you no where in this game unless your, A) cheating, B) have an M60 with lots of ammo and a sturdy aim. Beyond this, the levels are excellent, the storyline keeps you in the game. If not that, then the amazing cutscenes may do it, showing everything from drunken Russians to Japanese men eating sushi off a bikini clothed woman's body on a table while she moves slowly around. Very cool..
The AI is pretty intelligent, I've seen that the AI isnt up to some peoples liking but it suites me. The ai communicate and respond to what you do. If they see you with a gun, they shoot you, how about that :P, or if they see you in a costume and you look suspicious, you will hear them say "hmmm" and they will look you over. I think its great that when they start looking you over to pull out your dual hardballers (.45's) and go to town. The AI even have facial expressions of pain, is that not cool to see their lips contract when you shoot off theior toe or something :P
Graphics are gorgeous, the transform and lighting in this game is superior to any game I have ever seen. If you run this ghame like I do with all the options cranked, you will see this. Not only in game, but the cutscenes have gorgeous graphic detail.
The soundtrack is awesome, I'm trying to buy it myself. No hard rock, no rock period, all this game has is the great sounds of the Buddapest Symphony Orchestra I believe it was. I have the clip of the first song via demo and when it comes into rotation on my cd player I can only think about things blowing up and the Hitman watching from afar, very cool stuff, and thats how much it makes a connection to the game. Other than the soundtrack, the in game audio is superb. I have to hooked up to my six speaker set up and gun fights sound great. You hear the bullets as they whizz past your ear and then when you open fire...drool. Worth a mention is when you are sniping and your eye is to the scope, it blocks out the ambience noise and all you can hear is your own breathing, that is unless your getting shot at while sniping which then you'll hear your enemies. This game gives me visual and audible bliss. The game is so clean and perfect all around. And yet my only con is no punching. I wouldn't have even mentioned it but it was available int he demo, you could knock a person down and buy yourself a bit of time before they got back up, but in the full game there is no punching. I did think I saw a code to activate punching but you shouldn't have to put in a code :( Anyways, my greatest reccomendation for you is to download the demo, see how you like it, and if you want to see all the guns in the demo, find the codes and activate the all weapons cheat. Then you can see what Im talking about. But then buy the full game, the missions are awesome and well worth it. I can think of no game where you can be a postal worker, a delivery guy, an agent, and a hitman all in the same level. Don't just let this game get passed by, get the demo, then be awe struck, then gladly go buy the full game. Just be sure and do as I did and reccomend it to others, such a beautifully crafted game should not go unheard of.
