Pros: The Hitachi DVD Camcorder is worth buying.

Cons: You can not record stills on a DVD-R disc with the Hitachi DVD Camcorder.

I recommend this camcorder because you can use DVD. It is small and easy to carry around.

I have a Hitachi DZ-MV350A DVD Camcorder. To me, it's just like a DVD recorder.

Recording on Disc

When you record a movie on the little mini 8 cm DVD-R disc, you can pop it right into a DVD player or computer to watch your movie. First, you will have to finalize it from the camcorder. You can also use DVD-RAM disc.Hitachi Maxell discs are recommended for this camera. You can not use the discs for the DVD video camcorder without the round DVD holder. When you finalize the DVD, it may be used without the holder in DVD players and computers.

Recording Stills

The Hitachi Camcorder can also record stills on a DVD-RAM or card. You can record stills with the camcorder just like a digital still camera. Movies and stills can be recorded on the same disc, but you will have to switch the recording mode. However, still images cannot be recorded on a DVD-R disc.

Selecting Scenes

The good thing about the Hitachi Camcorder is you are able to select scenes using the Disc Navigation function. You can rearrange scenes and delete them and edit them.

Zooming

The camcorder allows you to be able to zoom into something that is far away while recording.

Menu

The camcorder has a joystick to select the time and date and much more in the menu.

Battery

You may carry the Hitachi DVD Camcorder everywhere you go using a battery. The battery will fit into the battery attachment of the DVD video camera. You can just slide it upward until it clicks. The camera has a battery eject switch to remove the battery. The camera also comes with a battery charger that you may connect to the camera and plug into the wall.

The Hitachi DVD Camcorder is wonderful to have in your home.
