Hikari formulates this pellet food to entice the large, carnivorous, bottom feeding fish by sight, smell, and taste. Each pellet is balanced with the proper nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to keep your fish healthy. The pellet will absorb water and quickly soften. It does not break apart or cause the water to become cloudy. The high quality of carotene contained in these pellets will ensure your indoor, tropical fish stay brilliant in color. Feed your fish 2-3 times daily and only what they will eat within a few minutes at each feeding. If you are just introducing this food, you may see your fish resisting to eat, this is common. Continued use will guarantee acceptance by your fish.

Pros: Fish just love these things!
Cons: none
The Bottom Line:
Anyone with picky eaters, especially fish who seem to reject flakes and other floating foods would do well to give these great sinking pellets a try.
I currently have two tropical freshwater tanks running. A 30gallon with 3 baby clown loaches, a gold nugget pleco, 2 guppies, 2 altispinosa rams, and 9 neons, and a 10gallon with a blue ram and a mystery snail. I first happened upon these carnivore pellets because I was searching for a good sinking food for my rams. They get hikari wafers (which they love) and frozen bloodworms, but most of the cichlid food I had tried was of the floating variety and the rams didn't even notice it. I picked up this package of sinking Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets at FISHMAN in Wilmington, Delaware for $10. I was a bit reluctant to pay that much, but I am very glad I did. My hard to excite rams absolutely love these little things! I've taken to calling them the "hamburgers" because of their shape and color. They sink nicely and do not cloud the water. The altispinosas love to pick up the pellets and carry them around all over the tank while they chew on them. It's great fun to watch! More importantly, my fish have grown considerably on these pellets and display wonderful rich color.
