You Don't Get What You Pay For

Author's Rating: Rating: 2/5 stars

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, good design, easy to use, good features.

Cons: Poor durability, extracting/retracting lens (drains batteries), overheats.

The Bottom Line:
I would recommend doing some more research before buying and make sure you get a good price, otherwise don't invest in it.

I bought this camera specifically for a concert. I got a great deal, $200 for the camera and the printer dock. Now, that's kind of cheap compared to others, but it's still a lot of money.

The buttons are pretty handy and the size and shape fits well in your hand. It's got a separate button for deleting photos and it's really hard to "lose" any pictures by accident. It has a "burst" feature to take quick consecutive pictures, but the only downfall to that is that it doesn't have a flash to it. I'm new to digital cameras, but I thought it would be neat if it had a quick shot with flash.

The night of our concert, it worked pretty well, takes great pictures, has a great flash, has neat features built into it, has a video capture which is cool (but I haven't used it yet). You can go see some pictures I took of the concert http://www.xanga.com/harliequin/547172159/the-awesomest-anniversary-ever.html

The printer dock that comes with it prints out great pictures, it's just too bad it only prints one size. But it's a standard 4X6. I think it may even print 3X5 but it comes with the 4X6 paper.

After you take a few pictures, it gets really annoying to have to wait while it says "processing". I am not even sure why it does this, but it is extremely annoying. I missed a lot of great shots because of this.

It is also a major battery drinker. We had an 8 pack of batteries and went through it in 4 hours of almost continuous picture taking. I'd probably guess that one set of batteries can take about 30 or 40 pictures if you have the display brightness to low and the flash off.

The worst part about this camera is that it broke the day after we bought it! After taking about 125 pictures or so consecutively within about 3 hours, it stopped working. It was on, but it wouldn't zoom, wouldn't take pictures, wouldn't switch modes, wouldn't even turn off!

The only solution was to take the batteries out, put them back in, and then it would shoot one picture off if I did it quickly and stop working again.

I exchanged it and got a new one yesterday, I wanted to test it out, but haven't had the chance to take as many pics as during the concert, but I took about 40 pictures and noticed the case getting warm. I can only guess that it overheated at the concert and broke it. But that's kind of ridiculous if you want this camera for more than the casual few pictures.

I would recommend doing some more research before buying this product and make sure you get a good price, otherwise don't invest in it. The number one reason I say this is because it can't handle taking a lot of pictures, which is a big negative if you have an important event like a concert, wedding, etc.
