Pros: Beautifully vivid color, makes small videos, compact. Amenities of more expensive digitals.

Cons: Slow in capturing picture and not that great at close-ups.

Nice little camera for beginning or intermediate photographers. If you are serious, jump up in price.

This was to be my very first digital camera. I searched online for different cameras and how they worked and looked at all different kinds of reviews. I then decided to put a Sony on lay-away at K-mart. I was so excited!! Then in all my excitement, I found one at Wal-mart that looked comparable, so I bought it on an impulsive whim because it was half of the price of the other camera which meant that I could also afford a battery charger, memory card and case to carry it in. I got my camera home, read all of the directions and started using it immediately. Now for my opinions: This is a nice, sharp looking little camera. Compact, so it's easy to carry. Works well with rechargeable batteries. It has different lightings, different kind of photos (action, portrait, nightime, snow, etc.) It has the option of giving you different borders around your pictures, cutting out red eye, and adding the time and date. It has the live video button which is really neat to make a short video of something whether anyone knows it or when no one really is aware...that's cool. The sound picks up when making the video, so the downloaded video on your computer does have sound to it. It comes with the cord to plug into your computer and download your pictures automatically which is extremely nice when you have taken a picture and want to see it immediately. If you are generally taking still portraits of people, it's pretty neat. The pictures are crystal clear, the colors are vibrant. I guess the two main problems I have are that when you snap the picture, it takes about 3-5 seconds to capture the picture and if it is a live picture (like kids, animals or wildlife), it has a chance to move and you lose the picture. My other complaint is that it really can't handle close-ups. Occasionally I sell things online and I can't close up on brands, signatures, etc. I garden and if there is something particular on one of my plants, I can't get close enough to focus on it. But if you are going on vacation or something or just taking family pictures, this camera is really great!!
